SeaWatch Year End Raffle

Watch this video of Scott Hanson. Scott donated his popular “Winter Song” sculpture to SeaWatch for our year-end raffle. This beautiful humpback whale sculpture was raffled in January. Money raised will help SeaWatch fund the organizations vital to the recovery of the Sea of Cortez.

December 2019 SeaWatch Newsletter

After all the success in 2019 we face new challenges in 2020. SeaWatch formed in 1993 is concerned with the rapidly declining fish populations in the Sea of Cortez. In 2009, SeaWatch, funded changes in federal fishing laws, initiated and helped launch Red de Observadores Ciudadanos (ROC), a citizen-driven non-profit organization whose mission is to stop illegal fishing in Espíritu Santo National Park and monitor illegal activities in the Bay of La Paz. A Fundraising Event Organized by SeaWatch

5 people enjoyed 220 bottles of wine, 400 lbs of sustainably raised seafood, 120 lbs of lamb and pork all served by 10 of the best chefs and restaurants in Cabo San Lucas and La Paz. Rock Violinist, Aaron Meyer from Portland, Oregon and trumpet player Terry Townsend from La Paz provided the music. The event raised over $7500 for the 5 NGOs that have worked tirelessly on the reef and reef fish recovery. 2023 SeaWatch Newsletter

We are continuing our 2023 efforts to fully protect the inshore reefs in Espíritu Santo National Park through modification of its Management Plan. The draft plan will be out soon for review and it's critical we apply more pressure for better protection. 

Ever since Cabo Pulmo National Park was created 27 years ago there has not been another reef fish recovery in the Sea of Cortez. To that end, we are launching the second phase of our campaign with a multimedia public strategy modeled after the very successful effort to protect the whale sharks in the Bay of La Paz.
