Espiritu Santo es parte de ti
Involves the Kids

The Campaign Team Heads to the Schools to Show the Importance of Conservation

The following video shows the important work of Espiritu Santo es parte de ti (Espiritu Santo is part of you) in community awareness. The team made presentations at La Paz schools of all educational levels as a part of the campaign dedicated to raising awareness in the recovery of the reefs at Espiritu Santo National Park and in consuming fish responsibly. During the next school year, the campaign team will continue the visits bringing the conservation message of Espiritu Santo.

Watch the following video of Master Ramón Ibarra Escobar, a teacher in La Paz. His inspiring work with children takes the message of conservation of fish, corals and species of Espiritu Santo National Park.

As a part of the visits a contest was held asking the students to show through a video, drawing, poster or story the importance and beauty of the parrotfish and why we should not consume it. Their work was posted on the Espiritu Santo es parte de ti Facebook page for the public to vote. The winners were announced at the awards ceremony on June 29, 2018. Winners in each category earned a trip donated by RED Travel Mexico to Espiritu Santo Island. It was a journey of learning, delicious food, many fish, many birds, dolphins, sea lions, and móbulas. The following video shows their adventure and ends with the children telling about their experience.
