425 people enjoyed 220 bottles of wine, 400 lbs of sustainably raised seafood, 120 lbs of lamb and pork all served by 10 of the best chefs and restaurants in Cabo San Lucas and La Paz. Rock Violinist, Aaron Meyer from Portland, Oregon and trumpet player Terry Townsend from La Paz provided the music.
The event raised over $7500 divided equally between the 5 NGO’s that have worked tirelessly on the reef and reef fish recovery. In less than 3 years the recovery has taken a very depleted Espiritu Santo National Park and turned it into a park that in 2018 was declared by the IUCN as one of the best managed and protected National Parks in the world. The first such award in Mexico and the second in all of Latin America. Two of the 5 NGO's (Espiritu Santo es parte de ti and ROC) were originated by and are primarily funded with your donations to SeaWatch.
Most importantly the event energized and solidified in the minds of the citizens of La Paz the importance of keeping the most beautiful National Park in all the Sea of Cortez ecologically healthy for the ecotourism that will support La Paz for generations to come.
