Job Description:
 
Sea Watch, a 501c3 non-profit environmental organization, is looking for a Webmaster to help us reach our goals.  This is a unique opportunity to use your web and Internet skills to make a lasting impact in our world. This is a paid position.

Responsibilities:

-develop and maintain web site organization on an ongoing basis
-day-to-day maintenance of web site content, including user contributions in English and Spanish
-some ongoing visual design work as needed to keep our appearance fresh
-maintenance of contact and contributor database
-produce periodic e-mail newsletters and informational e-mail campaigns
-respond to web site visitor feedback

Qualifications:

Candidates must have a working knowledge of PHP, MySQL, CSS and HTML. TextPattern administration experience would also be helpful, as would experience working with PayPal commerce, Wiki administration, and e-mail campaigns.  A working knowledge of English and Spanish languages is a
plus.

SeaWatch (www.seawatch.org) is a non profit, non-governmental organization dedicated to preserving and restoring the rich marine environments of Baja California.  The once majestic waters of the Sea of
Cortez, Baja's Pacific coast, and the Revillagigedos Islands is under tremendous pressure from non-sustainable fishing practices.  SeaWatch has been successful at informing public opinion and creating pressure to eliminate the most harmful practices, using mostly volunteer efforts.

We believe that we can tremendously expand our influence by adding a professional staff member dedicated to helping us leverage our web presence.

This is a part-time paid position.
