Hello I want to share the report and impressions of the OC
Relating to January 16th vigilance patrol of OC that took place on January 18th and 19th, I want to comment that there was no reportable events to the authorities, but there was something that in the point of view of the members of the OC is important to the island, in the east side of Isla Espiritu Santo we traveled north-south and thanks to the good visibility and clear water we could see that there are more fish of different species: grouper, grouper queen, parrot, snapper, bream and sardine clavelina .
The comments of my fishermen friends were that for a long time the hadn’t seen so many of these species on the island
Even though fishermen camps are still on the west side, the opinion of these was that there were less fish, the number of sea lions is increasing and that they destroy their gillnets, which I found it was true, we came when some of them were pulling in their nets and filled with very little fish, some already bitten by sea lions and many holes in the nets. What is also a fact is that most of these fishermen want to fish in only one area, they will not try to find more places to fish.
Sea Cucumber season is open and is one of the things we’ll be watching closely.

Water is very nice and clear and unusually full of fish: Dorado, mako shark, toothed macrel, and sierra all over the place. DORADO in February by the piles?? Anyway, with a slight el nino, these seem to be very unusual conditions with so much fish about as well as another anchovie spawning going on in the water—very nice to see this. just shows the recuperative powers of the sea.
